GRADUATION 2011

Helpful Hints For Ordering Graduation Cakes

1. PLACE YOUR ODERS IN ADVANCE:

Graduation Season begins at the end of May. Memorial Day Weekend is one of the most popular weekends to host graduation parties. Hilliard will have 3 schools with graduating classes and all 3 hold commencement on Memorial Day Weekend. To ensure that you can have your order on the day and time of your choice place your order early.

2.LEAVE A CONTACT NUMBER:

Please leave us a cell phone number that you can be reached at and are likely to answer.  Occasionally, our decorators may have questions later so knowing that we have a good contact number for you is essential.  Work numbers a generally not helpful as we typically make our calls in the evenings and over the weekend.

3.TRANSPORTATION & STORAGE:

Try to keep in mind that size and type of cake you are ordering in regards to how you will be transporting the cake to the party and where you may be storing the cake in the mean time.  If you are purchasing a tiered cake consider bringing an SUV or other vehicle with a flat service to place the cake on, as most car seats are angled. Often times it is best to have an extra person in the vehicle to hold the cake or keep an eye on it while you are driving. While, we take every effort in assembling your cake and boxing it to ensure its safety and stability it is still important to be careful transporting tiered cakes to their final destination. Additionally, if you are purchasing one of our filled cakes it is important to have a space in your refrigerator to keep the cake chilled.  If safe storage and refrigeration are a concern consider leaving your cake with us until you are close to beginning your party.

4.PICK-UP DATES & TIME:

It is important that you stick to the pick-up date and time that you give us when you place your order. Given the high volume of cakes that we do during this busy season we try to stick to a specific time schedule. If you arrive early to pick up your cake it is very likely that your cake will not be ready. We apologize in advance and ask that you give us a time for pick-up that you feel you can stick to. Additionally, if you are ordering tiered cakes we recommend that you pick-up on the day of your event. Typically, these cakes should stay chilled for ease of transportation and cutting and are often of a scale that a typical refrigerator cannot handle. Also, we recommend that all cupcake orders be picked-up on the day that they will be consumed. Cupcakes do not have the shelf-life that regular cakes have, if you must pick them up a day in advance we recommend chilling them over night to ensure freshness.

5.VERIFY:

Please be sure and verify your information! During this hectic season we process a lot of orders for a lot of schools and we are human. If we didn't repeat your order back to you,(which we should do) please don't hesitate to check that we have all of your information.  We ask for your first and last name because there are a lot of Smiths, Johnsons, Browns and so forth, we want to be sure that the right customer receives the right cake. If you send someone else to pick-up make sure they give your name to avoid any confusion.  We are fortunate enough to do cakes for a lot of different schools in and out of our surrounding area and several of these districts have multiple H.S. with different colors, and mascots. Please be sure and specify Bradley, Davidson, Darby, Scioto, Coffman, Jerome etc so that we know what colors and concepts fit your needs.
